Made in Bologna, Italy, the luxury shoe brand has become a true elegance benchmark. Its sleek style and elegant design, in addition to its quality construction, made the Italian brand really stand out in the leather shoe market. So after Magnanni & Santoni, I decided to make a Bruno Magli shoes review and share my thoughts about the brand.
Bruno Magli is a shoe company started in 1936 by three brothers (Marino, Mario & Bruno). At first they started it from the basement of their home in Bologna, Italy. Shoemaking is a generation heritage for them, as their grandfather was a craftsman in a shoe factory. Later the same year, they established Magli Shoe Factory.
In 1947, not long after World war II, the three siblings built their first ever manufacturing facility.
In 1969, the company moved to a larger more sophisticated and modern factory, which it still occupies until this day.
Starting from 1980, Bruno Magli expanded its reach by openining more than forty retail stores all over the world (America, Australia, China and many Europe countries).
Bruno Magli Leather Quality
The leather in Bruno Magli Shoes is softer than other brand's. Which is not recommended for daily wear. But as a rule of thumb, you should never wear any dress shoe however sturdy its skin is for two consecutive days. Wear it for one day then put a cedar shoe tree in it so the moisture dries up and the bed smells disappear.
Are Bruno Magli shoes comfortable?
Bruno Maglis are amongst the most comfortable dress shoes outhere. Bruno Magli's soft leather provide unequaled comfort for your feet, and so does the leather insole.

Bruno Magli shoes are made of various shoe welts. They usually construct their footwear using one of these three shoe welts
- Goodyear
- Blake
- Bologna construction
So depending on the shoe price, type & design you are more likely to stumble upon one of the three shoe welts mentioned above.
Note that Goodyear constructed shoes are known for their high resistance and durability, while Bologna/Blake constructed shoes are more comfort oriented. But in any case, if you don't properly take care of your shoes, don't expect them to last for too long.

Bruno Magli shoes are of good quality and they are available at interesting prices. Just make sure you take good care of them by buying an appropriate cedar shoe tree and a decent shoe care kit.
